Perforated Acoustic Ceiling Systems

A complete collection of perforated metal ceiling solutions. Almost every Ballesta ceiling system - strip, lay-in, clip-in, open cell, mesh, and tubular - can be precision-perforated and fitted with acoustic backing for superior sound control.

Product Collection

A Complete Product Collection

Perforated acoustic ceilings aren't a single product - they're a transformation applied across our entire ceiling range. Any Ballesta metal ceiling system can be precision-perforated and combined with acoustic fleece backing or micro-perforation technology to achieve targeted NRC ratings. The result: the same architectural ceiling you planned, with the acoustic performance your project requires.

Ceiling Systems

Available as Perforated Acoustic

Click any system below to see details. Each can be perforated + fitted with acoustic backing - or use micro-perforated panels for a smooth unperforated appearance.

Acoustic Options

Perforated Panels & Acoustic Fleece

Perforated panels with acoustic fleece backing improve sound absorption for offices, hospitals, classrooms and public spaces. The same perforation and backing options apply across all ceiling systems in our collection.

Perforation Patterns

All ceiling types in our collection can be perforated with various hole patterns. Standard round holes in staggered arrangement. Custom patterns and micro-perforation available for special acoustic and aesthetic requirements.

2.5mmStaggered round~23%

Acoustic Fleece Backing

A black acoustic fleece pad is heat-bonded to the back of each perforated panel. Sound waves passing through perforation holes are absorbed by the fleece, improving the Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC).

Micro-Perforated Panels

Micro-perforated panels feature ultra-fine holes (0.8-1.0mm diameter) that are nearly invisible from normal viewing distances. They provide acoustic absorption while maintaining a clean, smooth surface appearance \u2014 ideal for projects where visible perforations are not desired but acoustic performance is still required.

Why Choose Perforated Acoustic Ceiling

Six Key Advantages

Ballesta perforated acoustic ceiling systems deliver reliable acoustic performance across all ceiling formats. The same perforation and backing technologies work across strip, lay-in, clip-in, open cell, mesh, tubular, and hook-on systems.

Complete System Flexibility

Choose any ceiling format and have it perforated. Strip for linear continuity, lay-in for grid access, clip-in for seamless finish, open cell for 3D depth, mesh for transparency, tubular for rhythm, hook-on for easy maintenance.

Precision Perforation Engineering

CNC-controlled perforation with hole diameters from 0.8mm (micro) to 3.0mm. Staggered or straight patterns. Custom hole shapes and layouts available. Consistent quality across large production runs.

Acoustic Fleece & Micro-Perforation

Two acoustic enhancement paths: heat-bonded acoustic fleece (NRC up to 0.75-0.95 depending on system and configuration) or micro-perforated panels (0.8mm holes) that maintain a smooth unperforated appearance.

Fire Safety & Durability

All aluminum acoustic panels are non-combustible with Class A fire rating per ASTM E84 and EN 13501-1. No toxic fumes emitted in fire conditions. Corrosion-resistant, suitable for indoor and covered outdoor use.

Unlimited Finish Combinations

Powder coating in any RAL/Pantone color, PVDF fluorocarbon, anodizing (natural, champagne, bronze, black), and wood-grain transfer. Perforated and backed panels available in any finish.

Seamless Design Integration

Perforated acoustic panels integrate with the same grid systems, suspension hardware, and installation methods as their non-perforated counterparts. No additional structural modifications required.

Applications

Ideal for Premium Spaces

Ballesta perforated acoustic ceiling systems are specified across a wide range of noise-sensitive environments where sound absorption and architectural quality are equally important.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which ceiling systems can be made into perforated acoustic ceilings?

Almost all of them. Strip, lay-in, clip-in, open cell, tubular, and hook-on ceiling systems can all be perforated and fitted with acoustic fleece backing. Each system retains its original installation method and structural characteristics.

What is the difference between acoustic fleece and micro-perforation?

Acoustic fleece is a heat-bonded sound-absorbing pad attached to the back of perforated panels - sound waves pass through the holes and are absorbed by the fleece. Micro-perforation uses tiny holes (0.8-1.0mm) that are nearly invisible from a distance, providing acoustic absorption while maintaining a smooth surface appearance.

What NRC ratings can be achieved?

NRC ratings vary by system and configuration. Perforated panels with acoustic fleece typically achieve NRC 0.60-0.75 for standard configurations. Open cell and mesh systems with backing can reach NRC up to 0.90-0.95 depending on cavity depth and backing material. We can provide project-specific acoustic calculations.

Are perforated acoustic panels fire-rated?

Yes. All Ballesta aluminum perforated panels are non-combustible with Class A fire rating per ASTM E84 and EN 13501-1. The acoustic fleece backing is also fire-rated. No toxic fumes are emitted in fire conditions.

Can I mix perforated and non-perforated panels in the same ceiling?

Yes. Perforated and non-perforated panels from the same system are fully interchangeable and use the same grid and suspension hardware. This allows targeted acoustic treatment - perforated panels in noise-critical zones and solid panels elsewhere.

What finishes are available for perforated panels?

All standard Ballesta finishes apply: powder coating in any RAL or Pantone color, PVDF fluorocarbon, anodizing (natural, champagne, bronze, black), and wood-grain transfer printing. Perforation does not limit finish options.
